    could be loose pedals/cranks or a dead BB.
    check them out and see.

    so you say the crankset end is ok. so have a look at the wheel end.

  • If the clunking occurs at the same points during each pedal revolution, the problem must be at the crank end. If it clunking 'moves', it might be in the freewheel.

  • I had a 'strange vibrationy sensation' when pedalling in some gears on my new Giant Terrago. Took it back to my LBS and they located it to the cassette ?

    Everything was Shimano apart from the cassette which was Sram - this surprised my LBS but they said it shouldn't have caused a problem but swapped it for a Shimano cassette and this sorted the problem.

    My problem was much more a vibration sensation in some gear combinations rather than a clunking as you suggest.

    Can you take it back to a LBS to get them to look it over and ride it round the carpark to check it out ?
