Carbon frame/ seatpost combo question.

I managed to over tighten my seat clamp bolt recently which burst my seat post.
The frame and the post are carbon. I wondered if there were any issues with using an alloy post in a carbon frame? I'm swithering whether to get a Thomson elite or another carbon one, they are both comparable price wise.
Any advice/input is appreciated.

My friend has got an aluminium post in his carbon frame, doesn't seem to make a difference to him :?winter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

Absolutely no problem using alloy in a carbon frame.
Amazing that you didnt damage the frame first though ! Why so tight ? If the carbon post slips - just spray some hair spray on it - give it a minute and then insert. Works a treat.0 -
I suggest you get a torque wrench before you damage the frame, my seat collar says 6-9nm on it.0
