I hit a pothole and wrote my front rim off the other week. :( after some thought I have decided to get a new rim laced onto the hub that I have. I have chosen the rim and that that ordered.
The original wheel a planet x model c was laced 2 cross and I am thinking about getting my new rim laced radially. What would you recomend?

2x for me. a radial pattern is never going to have as much lateral rigidity and it may put more stress on the hub (unless the hub has been designed to accommodate radial spoking..)

If you're using a hub that's been used before, then use the same lacing pattern as before. Going from crossed to radial is asking for trouble as the original spokes will leave indentations in the hub right where the load path is for radial lacing.
  • Cheers for your thoughts guys, was not sure about getting them laced radially think I will stick with the 2 cross.
