I'll see your Jelle Nijdam..
....and raise you a Rolf Golz
Superconfex Yoko - what a squad!
Nijdam, Golz, van Poppel, Maassen, van Hooydonck...
Plus they used to sell off their old "fishnet" Colnagos to us poor Paddys after the Nissan Classic.

It wasn't the green jerseys that made them popular in the Emerald Isle perchance?

They were the QuickStep of their day. Good in the one-day and short stage races but it all tended to go t!ts up after a week.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -
Rolf was the nearest to a climber they had.
Interesting to see that they are still a continuous line in the peloton through...

saw him asking for a push on the aubisque back in the day.... big man suffering like a dog off the back
he made the cut IIRC.. rode for novell/wordperfect at the time... used to take two/three man flyers off the front on the flat stages with the likes of Jesper Skibby and van Hooydonck"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0 -

Jelle Nijdam provided some of the best finales 1-2km run in action ever seen at TDFs...I can't think of many who managed to stay away like he could0
