Upgrade components, build on a free frame or buy a new bike?

I've been fortunate enough to win a Dialled Prince Albert frame as a spot prize. I bought a Giaint Terrago 2 years ago when I first started mountain biking , but several components now need replacing.

I ride a couple of longer events each year (Roughride, Brecon Beast), do some technical trails (Afan Valley etc) and go out 2 to 3 times each week on the local hills. I think I have got 3 options:

1. Make do until the end of next year when I could afford a new bike in the £1K range.
2. Upgrade the Terrago gradually.
3. Transfer as much across as possible to the PA and buy the remaining components and then gradually upgrade.

I'd welcome any thoughts/advice anyone has, particularly on what I would have to buy to get the PA up and running.
