Downtube shifter conversion

What i need to use STI (bar shifters) with a frame that has bosses for friction shifters but no cable stops?

Yes, though you can also buy Shimano DT cable stops which look better IMHO.

TBH when you buy the shifters the DT stops should come with the levers.

There isn't, DT cable stops are one of the names they are known as.
