Hi all,

can anyone help? My forks have started juddering and shuddering under braking after only 2/3months usage. They are 2008 Rockshox Reba race U-turn with Formula ORO K18 brakes.

At low speeds is more noticable.

Any suggestions?

when do the "judder" when accelerating? slowing?
    light braking?
    heavy braking?

Sorry mate. Should have clarified. Its only happening under braking especially at slow speeds.

    Light braking I guess.

i would say the brakes need a clean
    Or the headset needs adjusting.

apply the brake and try rocking the fork back and forth. feel for movement.
turn the fork at 90 degrees to the bike and try rocking the bike again across the fork and feel for play.

Thanks for that mate. I will give em a proper going over, although the brakes aint too bad to be honest. The pads seems well worn down though, The play in the brake lever has increased and they need a good old squeeze now to get any decent action out of them.
  • also check all the brake mounting bolts are tight including rotor.

Ok. Checked the headset by rocking backwards & forwards with front brake applied.

    No joy.

Turned handlebars 90 degrees. Tried it again.

    No joy.

Cleaned the brakes and removed dust and residue.

    No joy.

Still juddering at low speeds and coming to a stop, but fine at normal road speeds. You can see the forks vibrating like crazy.

Help me before I go crackers..!
