brakes - what did I break?

This morning I tried to fit my wheel to my frame after being off for 4 weeks (crashed at Cheddar :( ) and the pads were too close to fit the rotor between them.

I managed to prise them apart with a screwdriver, fit wheel and go for a short test ride: very stiff and lots of squeak/ zzzhing sounds. Removed wheel and pads and used some GT85 on the piston.

At the end of faffing around (The caliper piston appeared to stick) there was no pressure in the brake line (brake lever pulled all the way back) and piston barely moved. There was also some brake fluid on the brake lever- there seems to be small, round hole: is it a pressure release? Did I let air into the system when the pads were removed?

Time for bleeding kit methinks.. Does a Formula Bleeding Kit Avid Juicy 3.5?
