I recently purchased a road bike for my partnerso we can have the occasional ride together, I should have lookde more closely before but it has a metal/alloy seat tube and the frame is carbon.

Any thoughts on this being a good or bad combination?
I used to play Hockey but now I ride.... one day like the wind :)

carbons inert it will be fine, just dont greae the seat pin , use a carbon compound to increase grip on the seatpost, think most carbon compenent manufacturerer's have their own gunk - I use Ritchey made gunk on my carbon parts

    Vaseline works too.

Alternatively fit it dry but store the post out of the frame when not being used.
