headset loose after ***ing around with it!
I was changing the position of the spacers on my Spec tri-cross and turning the stem the other way up.
Now the bleeding headset is loose somewhere and there's a clunk when I hold the front brake and wiggle the handlebars back and forth.
Have tried tightening it again several times, but it's still loose! There's no obvious gap between spacers and stem ect.
Any ideas?@$&?!

Try loosening it slightly, thenput pressure on it and wiggle it left and right. That worked for me any way.

Hey mate,
Loosen the stem bolts and then tighten the top cap until the shaking/movement stops. Then you should be able to tighten up the stem bolts without any movement in the headset afterwards.
I also learned this one the hard way.

Did you tighten the headset top cap before you tightened the stem bolts to clamp the stem to the steerer? If you did it the other way round then you won't be able to perload the headset - hence the movement.
If you did and it still wobbles I would check that headset is all sitting as it should - i.e. frame to fork clearances as per normal etc.
