Chain ring change

its about time for a Change to my chain rings.
Im currently running sram x7 shifters and derailer. on to a tripple ring and im wanting to changes to a double and a bash guard on hte cheap. ( ish) so i did not want ot change my shifter or derailer. its that ok to do. Also i am a whore for anodised red stuff so will

also can any one recomend a bash guard ( in red or black) and should i go for a slightly larger middle ring seeing as im getting rid for the large cog ?
