31.7 stem and 31.8 bars?

Pretty much what it says in the title....

Ive got a deda stem (31.7), and am wanting to buy some new bars. Do I have to stick to 31.7 (pretty much limiting me to Deda) or will 31.8 bars fit? The tolerances cannot be that tight, can they?

    31.8 will be fine.
    Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

    The stem and bars are manufactured to the Imperial measurement of 1. 1/4", which converts to 31.75mm. Some makers round it up to 31.8, others down to 31.7mm.

    Thanks, very useful information to know - gives me a lot more choice as to whixh bars though :?
