Hey
I didnt even think when buying my first pair of tyres, is it best to have folding tyres or normal tyres?
I know one is lighter but any other problems or anything.
Thanks guys.

Folding tyres are really easy to get on and off and since the tyre represents over a third of an average wheel's weight they are one of the most effective ways of reducing weight.0

So it all is good then.
Why to they sell the other tyres if folding are so good?
Can anyone recomend a good XC and commute tyre, if there is such a thing, was looking at the panaracer fire xc pro.
Going to afan on saturday. the wall.0 -
Fire XC Pro front, Conti Speedking rear for me, my commute is short though.
Any more than 5/6 miles each way, or boggy deep mud on your XC routes and I'd advise getting two sets of tyres.0 -
Hey
No more than 5/6 miles for me, but would like matching tyres.
Im a bit vain like that.
Thanks0 -
Yeh I noticed they were cheaper as well, but they felt quite stiff.0

im using fire xc pros front and back at the minute, the folding type i mean.
Cant be bothered putting my road tyres back on so ive been using them this week for my commute to work. They have been OK - definitely not as bad as id thought. Not as fast as my semi's though.
They are lighter though and i can definitely feel the difference in response.0 -
If you can't be bothered changing tyres, at least pump them up to the maximum recomended pressure for road use.Northwind wrote: It's like I covered it in superglue and rode it through ebay.0

Going to go out tommorow and get some tyres.
Might have a look at the fire xc's or maybe get something else, not sure.
The XC pros do seem quite nobbly for road use, but hey you are never going to get both of worlds.0
