Squeaky Disc Brakes

I've been having problems with my front brake squeaking. I posted a thread on a local forum (Chase Trails) asking for solutions, and was told to soak the pads in oil. I did this, and although the squeaking has gone, I seem to be having trouble stopping, any ideas?

They said soak the pads in oil?!!!! Post back, and ask the silly barstard to pay you for a new set of pads, as they are now totally ruined!

Some just squeak - check the stickies for an article on set up and squeaking.

Any trace of oil on pads or rotors seriously cocks up stopping.

Err new pads and clean the rotor with isopropanol alcohol.
