Gradients measuring device question
Just a quickie, I remember reading somewhere about a spirit level like device that measures gradients. Does anyone know if I was imagining it or that in-fact such a device does exist, I've tried the forum search function but to no avail...

are you going to build scale models of your rides to use it on?0

I'm sure there are more knowledgeable people here who know exactly what I'm asking for....0

You could get them -it is like s spirit level for your top tube or stem - thats the only one I've seen in 25 years of cycling - so demand isnt too great.
One of my clubmates got one for being first off the back at the Eddie Soens - so he would be able to spot a real hill when he gets to one.
No idea what use it is on a bike - gradient is only one thing - headwind and surface needs to be considered too.
If you're interested - plot the hill on Bikely and work out the gradient from there.0 -
I looked in an old April 04 Bicycling mag. Go to
http://www.velimpex.com/home/inclinometer.htm
and have a look.
Then go to makers website.

Seems there r two types. Don`t know where u get them Print out a page and take it in to your bike shop.
Of course you could save your $25 (even better 28grms) and go to:

Glue it to a piece of wood and it`ll last for years. The Wife complained for months about the empty pot of bike oil on the hall stand; so I replaced it with a full one.0 -
Thanks! ! I knew it wasn't a figment of my imagination. I've looked at the web site you linked to and all in all with delivery from the US this little device comes to around about £21. I've got to work out now if this little nugget of information via this bubble is worth it.... knowing me I will think about it for a few days, say nah I could better spend the money elsewhere and order it anyway0
