  • There was a young lady called Lits
    Renowned for her pedalling tricks
    Pushing a massive gear
The sight of her struck fear
And gave a poor hipster the sh1ts

    Brilliant! :lol::lol:

Now who said that gallantry was dead?

I think Don Don is entirely right to put himself out there in free sight and have a punt.

It's the equivalent of making the longest walk, across the floor of a pub to talk to a bird when she's with all her mates....

Mucho grande Cojones required as the walk of shame back, ten seconds later is very high on the great pain scale.

Also if he did it via PM then we'd never have a laugh about it (until she posted his love notes for us to see of course).

Thankyou for your kind words father. I hope I have inherited even half of your empathy :D

FFS will you two just PM each other, arrange a date, get together...and then tell us all about it in full technicolour... 8)

Tip: if you go to a Mexican, fajitas are a bad idea, too messy, trust me, been there, not impressive...

I'm afraid no man can stand in the way of a love this all-encompassing. I'm sure he would step aside once he saw the perfect roundness of my chainring.

My new-found father, GregT, will understand my feelings..

That it involved two men on a tandem is all I'm ready to admit to at this juncture

I'm thinking this might be a better level to pitch at:

Whilst riding one day, lost in thought,
Not looking again, as I ought.
    A slippery runnel
    as I entered the tunnel,
with pants down, thus I was caught.

    Pedestrians came to my aid,
As embarrassedly there I was laid.
"On active reflection, you should wear protection"
Was the comment that most of them made.

A+ for poetry but is the subject matter really going to win her over?

    Also, what's a runnel?

    genius

Whilst riding with brand new cleats,
I forgot the pedals were stuck to my feet,
    In my haste to unclip,
I hit the kerb and did flip,
My arse right over my tiits.

In the road I was lying,
Whilst my mates were all crying,
My steed was broken and wrecked,
    My knees were all scabby,
    My pride it was shabby
And my Ring was thoroughly bent.

Don is a bit of a stalker
his belle is the age of his daughter
    he woos her online
    and plies her with rhyme
but she'll soon blow him out of the water!

(My apologies to all concerned.....not meant to be the least bit serious!)

Well - if we're all getting in on the 'poetry' :D

    when don was bold
    and lit was cycling past
    he stuck his yoke
    between her spoke(s)
and she landed on her ass

It isn't? I thought I was just being unlucky...
  • I'm very much enjoying all the poetry!

But Kieran, I agree with Jen, if someone chucked a yoke between my spokes I'd probably thump them... once I'd escaped from my SPDs.

A fragrant young lady named LiT
made Don_don behave like a twit
He stalked her on the boards
    Watched by the internet hordes
Hoping she'd give him a bit

It's just a hill. Get over it.

It's at this point that I wish

    a. I was witty
    b. Knew more bike parts than brakes, pedals, handlebars, gears.

I was thinking or running "impale-ier" but thought better of it in case the cyber fuzz busted me for over the top lewdness and I got excommunicated to the MTB boards....
