I gave up visiting when one MTBer wanted to know why their assembeld bike weighed x grams (measured on bathroom scales), but the individual components, according to the manufactures weighed about 200 grams less than x. Worst thing was that other MTBers started giving sensible answers such as bolt weights, amount of grease etc.

They've got a 'weight' one going at the moment. It's all so serious If that fussed about weight why buy bikes made of girders and covered in bits of pogo stick in the first place?

I'm less worried about my bike's weight and more worried about my own. And it's cheaper to lower my weight than it is my bike's.

Exactly. Do they worry about the additional weight added by copious amounts of mud?

Here here! I'm sure something such as a Giant Bowery would be very light and JA's complete Prince probably weighs about as much as one MTB wheel!

MTBs are heavy so we can crush feeble roadies under our truck-like wheels, then use our built in pogo sticks to bounce up and down on the remains, hooting and beating our chests like the wild, mud covered animals that we are.

Of course, we can't catch roadies on the flat (no shame, it's their natural environment after all), so we have to employ baboon like cunning and hide up trees and mountains waiting for one to pass so we can unleash the death from above.

    Ahem.

Anyway, back on topic. Ladies on bikes. Mmm :D
Today is a good day to ride

Actually recent indepth weight analysis in Litt Laboratories have revealedconsults clipboard, adjusts glasses

that the Bowery does in fact weigh a featherlike 9.5 kgs which is equivalent to almost 2 cats!

I cant belive you think MTB forum is nerdy :?:

we may discuss weight a bit to much in deph but it does affect how the bike handles.
we dont discuss how best to remove leg hair or banter on about any retired riders comeing back to ride in some race in france. Never do we complain about a bloke in a white van cutting us up... we get far better thinkgs to cause us to crash like horse poo, small dogs on leashes, horses.
Our helmet debate gets summed up that we all come off and headbutt a tree once a week so riding without is a bit silly and rotational brain injurys dont get a mentioned.

only thing we dont have is the good looking ladies.

p.s. please please please take this in jest.

It will never last, I'm sure we're be splitting up in to opposing forums soon, yacf (yet another commuting forum)

I seem to remember leaving a scathing post on a road thread about carbon fibre bottle cages.
I advised the chap concerned to get a bottle cage made of a non-brittle material and to have a big pooh before his bike rides to make up the difference.

See we're all as bad as each other, that said, if I had to choose, it'd be the commuter forum, just for the SCR thread, pure genius and a wonderful way to waste away the working day.
