It's quite surprising that a post about washing cycling clothes makes two pages on this forum. Train spotters or what?

    No, cyclists.

    Trainspotters don't appear to wash their clothes, or their hair, but then you probably don't get very sweaty standing at the end of a platform at York station all day with a video camera.

    trust me, when you've spent £120+ on a pair of fancy shorts, you feel quite sick if kill them in the machine....

    Exactly. Same with any expensive-ish clothing you've spent hard-earned cash on, cycle gear or not.
