I went for this one from Amazon in Germany:
http://www.amazon.de/dp/B005HNNGNS/ref=pe_386171_38075861_TE_item
Cheaper than getting one from the uk. We have a similar one in the changing room at work and it's superb, hope this ones as good (seems it so far). Can do shoes and gloves at the same time. Lovely.0 -
paid 120 for mine and it is a great unit, very well thought out by Garmin and a definite step up from the 500.
Good to hear, as it is just an indulgence. My Bryton still works fine and dandy, I just fancied something a little more modern and less clunky.0 -

No reason for upgrading, I only swapped because I have intermittent problems with my 500, otherwise I would have kept it, the 500 is still a good unit but the 520 is a lot better.x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

I've never heard of such a thing...I NOW WANT ONE!!!
So you just plug it in and put those tube things in your shoes/gloves? How long it take to dry out a pair of rain soaked shoes?0 -

There's a timer dial which goes up to two hours, stick the tubes in your shoes and it blows warm air into them. Takes about an hour to fully dry shoes and gloves. Also less hot than a radiator so doesn't damage the shoe, but quick enough that the shoes don't smell too bad.
Dry shoes are ace.0 -

Just passed the details onto my dad. He's been asking what I'd like for my birthday for a few weeks and I can never normally think of anything...
I'm going to run mine through a plug in socket timer so my shoes and gloves are toasty every morning as I head off to work through the coldest months. Pure bliss. Thanks for the heads up!Cannondale caad7 ultegra

That Kinesis looks very tidy. Good buy.
Ta. Not a fan of the deep drop bars so will probably do a straight swap of the Deda stuff from the Boardman and see how it rides. If I like it i'll sell the boardman with with PLT stuff and existing groupset. I definitely won't be keeping both bikes as they're too similar (not nice enough to be 'best only', but neither have mudguard mounts either).
I'm hoping the KInesis will be really nice, but a test ride into this evening's headwind (assuming it arrives today) doesn't feel like a good test!0 -
delivered less than 24hours after placing order. perfect0 -
Rapha t shirt for the GF and a TT bike for myself. I thought that was pretty fair?0

£137.50 at Evans with code, seemed like a good deal! These will be my dry weather shoes as I don't have a shoe dryer0 -
Pro Lite Garda DS Wheelset:
Just under £90 from shopto, considerably cheaper than wiggle & ribble who have them for around £125.
Interestingly they have stickers on them stating "Special Edition Wheel for Ribble Cycles by Pro Lite" - I'm now wondering if Shopto have started some kind of partnership with Ribble - after a bit of googling you can see that they are selling Tiagra chainsets as 'coming direct from ribble':
http://www.shopto.net/cycling/shimano/CY00960-shimano-tiagra-double-4600-10-speed-chainset-175-395
It looks like the description is probably a direct lift from the Ribble website. Strategic partnership or goods falling off the back of a lorry? I'm somewhat hesitant to ask!
Anyway, this is rather my last throw of the dice for a cheap wheelset I can use with rim brakes after the cheap merlin handbuilts let me down - these seem pretty well regarded for heavy riders (it seems from the reviews that if you break your wheels on a wiggle bike they send you these instead!) so have to be worth a punt. If I need to run quality handbuilts to survive my weight and awesome powah then I can't justify the rim wear of the commute on them, which'll be a bit of a shame.
Still, I do have a singlespeed disc crosser and a disc crosslight if I want to go fast, so really wouldn't be such a disaster....0 -
Finally caved in and ordered this (Last one in a 54 it would seem) :
Realise it is not the ultimate vfm or light bike, but I find it a very nice looking machine.

Looks very nice, like the powder blue finish - what's the spec?
Exalith rims?
if so, the braking power on those babies is stunning, I quite often nearly put myself over the bars if I haven't ridden mine for a while, and have been riding a standard alloy rimmed bike
