Sorry everyone, but i'm having a whinge! Mrs G has kindly given me an early birhtday pressie - a stinker of a cold. So, with just over a week before my first ever marathon i'm feeling crap and fretting whether i'm gonna be fit for the big day. I'm not sure tapering is supposed to involve shivering in bed! I keep telling myself that i've trained hard and fitness shouldn't just vanish, but it would be nice to get one more longish run in this weekend (just to be on the safe side!). Right, whinge over - time for more hot blackcurrant....

Rich you willl be fine, eat lots of garlic and go for a gentle 8 mile trot a few days before the mara and bet you run a pb if over your cold.

    Good luck though

It's God's way of telling you running is bad.

Feel like I'm coming down with one too.

20miles home tonight & straight into hot bath with hot toddy.

Could be in for a cr@p weekend.

Well I've had freshers flu for about a week now and went on the freshers welcome bike ride yesterday and that wasn't a sensible thing to do
