Recon SL travel adjustment

Hi,

I'm looking at uping the travel on a set of Rock Shox Recon SL air. They are currently 100mm and was looking at trying 120-130mm if possible.

Anybody have any experience on this, if even possible?

I've tried searching previous threads/posts but nothing is specific enough. I understand that I may be able to use All Travel spacers and that the current upper tube length may be the limiting factor.

where did the recons come from, what model. Your best bet would be to open them up and see if the spacer is there.

if they are the All travel version then yes you can. If they are not then you can not.

    more info needed.

a full strip down and change info is on srams webby.
it is the same for any all travel fork.

They were off a giant xtc.

Nicklouse, thanks for the heads up on the RS website info.
I'll have a look at taking them apart and see what I can see.

    OE may not be adjustable.

    Contact Giant UK.

I own a set of these forks, the Recon Sl,XC and Race can olny be changed from 100mm to 80mm and back, they are the cross country fork with the shorter internals and stanchions, the Recon 335,351 and 327 have the longer stanchions and internals and can be changed between 80-130mm.Of course you could always sell it and buy a U-turn model.

This was confirmed by my own fiddling and an email from Rockshox CS.

    Hope this helps

Hmmm, some OE 335, 327 and 351 have those customed chopped stanchions too.
