front mech
need some help please, had my scr 3 for about 2weeks now and my front mech started to catch slightly on my chain. So i tried to adjust the cable and the front cage myself but made it worse, took it to bike shop today to get it done but when i tried it its still the same, better than the way i left it but still catches. Be taking it back on mon to get it sorted but wanted to get a decent ride in tomorrow so i was hoping with some instruction that i would be able to set it up properly myself then just get my 7 quid back on mon from the shop.Any advice as always would be greatly appreciated thanks

hi john it is sora triple, catches on all 3 rings outer edge on the big ring and middle ring looking at it i think the cage is slightly out of paralell with the chain would that explain it happens more when applying more pressure to the pedals. sorry no idea what the trim is.
have run it through all the cassette and it catches all the time. Its not bad but annoying all the same especially when it was running perfect
cheers :oops:0 -
The outer plate of the cage should be parallel to the big ring and about 2 to 3mm above it when the chain is on that ring. The link that Nick gave is one of the best for setting up. I can not improve on it.I think Sora has a trim facility. This is done by moving the lever a small distance which allows the cage to move a little to give more chain clearance.
Have a look at the Shimano instruction sheet here.
