I guess for riding to work you will have the lockout on most of the time, I know that what i dod when i used my MTB as a commuter.

If this is the case most of your focus will be the right setup for single track (perhaps other then the u-turn if you have that model which you can change in an instant anyway)
    Giant TCR advanced 2 (Summer/race)
    Merlin single malt fixie (Commuter/winter/training)
    Trek superfly 7 (Summer XC)
Giant Yukon singlespeed conversion (winter MTB/Ice/snow)

  • Hi again its the coil one with the u turn if that helps :D

set your sag fork full extended. if you cant with the current spring you need a new one.

set your rebound so you dont get thrown off.

the rest is up to you and how you ride.

All this is in the manual.

Fork (and shock!) settings are a personal thing.
Rebound needs to control the fork without bucking you off,but able to extend enough to take another hit.
A good rule of thumb is to compress the fork and lift the front of the bike. If the suspenson springs it off the ground then rebound is too fast,if you can lift the wheel off the ground and suspension is still extending then too slow.
You don't want the pogo effect,or the fork packing down on repeated hits.
It's very much personal though.I change mine before every ride depending on what I'm going to be riding. If I'm on fire roads for instance I'll set very slow rebound because there's no bumps as such, but if I'm hitting the DH track I'll set it rather quick to cope with the next hit.
