Afternoon all, i have been thinking of upgrading the wheels on my bike as they seem to double the weight of it. I have a Kuota Ksano and the wheels are Shimano RS10's. I have used the search option but thought i'd post a new topic with my particular specifics, basically i want as light as possible but not to pricey,i weigh 60kg so i dont think they need to be super strong, budget of maybe £400 top. Any advice greatly appreciated even if you think i'll be wasting my time and money, also clinchers preferably, cheers all

do a forum search. There are loads of threads like this.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

Yeh i know but they end up in arguments or the budgets areway higher than mine, i'll probably talk to a builder (of wheels) that seems to be probably the best route :?winter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

I was going to say, go handbuilt if I were you. 400 quid would get you a lovely pair.0

good recommendations from reddragon. with your low weight and budget i think the eastons would be pretty much unbeatable. not sure about talking to a builder ... do you really think he'll give you independent advice? A bit like saying "I'll talk to Easton ..."0

do you have a pair?
new construction method for the rim. How safe is it?0 -
Correct terminology is WH-7850-C24-CL; the CL bit for carbon laminate.
I've had a pair since May & have done 867 (dry only) miles with them beneath my Gios Cinquantenario. I've found them to be quicker accelerating than the Open Pro/Ultegra combo that the bike had before. They also seem to hold speed pretty well for a light weight rim. Handling in a cross wind is no different to the Open Pro's either.
Build quality is impeccable, they're still running true & I don't have any reservations about the construction method.
They’re covered by a 3 year warranty so I guess that Shimano has confidence in the alloy/carbon lamination.
Shimano are also releasing a version at Ultegra level called WH-RS80-C24-CL (where do they get these designations from?) which will be cheaper than Dura Ace.0
