inner tubes

After some tubes to fit 700x23c tyres, any particualr brand or will anything do even Halfords own?
Do the slime filled tubes work and are they noticeably heavier than standard?

    I have no experience of the slime tubes (and so maybe shouldn't comment) but would expect them to be unnecessary weight and also to possibly have an effect on wheel balance which could be very scary as you descend at 40mph. Personally i would not use them. No doubt somebody will say they are the best thing since sliced bread.

    Dont know bout slime but i use Bontrager tubes from www.cycleworld.co.uk
