Alivio RD-M410 upgrade, 24 speed

would like to know, as my bikes a 24 speed, can i use any rear derailleur, for an upgrade? if not, what shimano item would be ok?
and really the same question about the front one, thats a Shimano Acera

Any Shimano derailler will fit and work. But ensure it is the same cage length.
The Alivio is the best 8spd max derailler on the market. I am not sure an upgrade will give you the performace enhancment you want. What other parts in the drivertrain do you have?0 -
well, just working out, an upgrade path, was thinking of the SLX cranks, but XT seem better all round,
or save moneys and get just some Deore HT2 cranks, er, i seem to have caught the upgrading bug

Cranks would have a more noticable effect I feel - be a lot lighter than your current ones.
I would wait until what you have has worn out though.0 -

have got some nice dt 4.2 wheels ( xt hubs) from merlin cycles, nice price, with rotors too
need some winter clothes tho, getting cold, and my new job involes riding to work

Keep the old drivetrain on for the winter! Rain and road salt will eat it quick!0
