well today was a really good post day for me!
my carbon cranks arrived finnaly after a bit of ebaying last weekend!!


chuffed to bits was an understatement! neede to replace the outer ring but as i needed one for my old xt set i had a brand new XT outer to go on!! (same night of ebayage!!)

so cleaned up and fitted to the bike and being the bike tart i ma i thoguht it rude not to add soem pic's!!!




and My little helper for the day!!! bless her!

Not yet! hahah! thought about one of those inner mech plates you can get!!!

see, i'm making up for my shortfalls in ability by blinging up my bike some more hahahah!

tried a lee esque wheelie yesterday! not very clever when clipped in! have a sore back side now from an oh dear, i've pulled the bars up a bit hard and cant unclip at this angle! shortly followed by me still inthe riding position on the bike but laying on the floor! :oops: :roll:

Although judging by the 4th pic, the chain looks too long (unless of course it's dangling around the BB shell instead of on the chainrings :? )

chain is on the rings! but is on small and small so does lay under the mech a little, tis the way i always have my chains! does mean if it pops a link then i have enough to wip one out without worrying!!!

the jockey wheels came from www.clee-cycles.co.uk they do botht eh std kcnc ones at £15 and the ceramic bearing ones at £30

what makes the cranks even sweater, is the price i paid!! sunday evening ebay Rocks!! hahah! (the outer xt ring was about ten mins after and got that all in for £7.40!)

do the flights make much difference though as dart flights dont weigh a great deal to begin with lol! althoguh a bit like my bike, i suppose its all a bit extra bling!! ( i remember as a kid getting really excited about the naked lady flights hahahah! they were the days!!)

been out for a quick ride this avo to get the veg box witht he littlun, and they seem Super stiff! and they do look damn sexy!

Ha, I used to have naked lady flights!

Amazing what darts paraphernalia you can get now. The carbon flights (actually not really carbon) are very rigid, keep their shape and dont fall to bits as easy as some do.

they look like KCNC chainring bolts and jockey wheels

erm yeah! the gold ones came with the crankset, the red ones (you can just see the threads on the inner ring bit) i had! (A2Z ones)
its a bike tarts bike for a bike tart lol!

only a carbon saddle and a carbon plate for the rear mech and it'll all be carbonised hahah! oh, and the forks! but cant afford them loL!

with something like sid's (old ones at 2.7lb) and soem lighter wheels it'll be down to low 20's lb's! (about 25 at the mo!) but that'll be a fair way off!

A very jammy find indeed, keep an eye on the drive end as that is known to wear as is the carbon, i was going to scream at you worn top ring!! but realised you replaced it.
