Did my first commute into work on Friday on my hardtail, 13.86 miles according to my Cateye Strada, averaged just over 13mph and time just under 1hour 4mins on the way in and just over 12mph and just under 1hour 6mins on the way back (finish at 12.30 so didnt have a full day to recover!!)....pretty happy with that as i'm a few years out of fitness but i'm not particularly overweight.

Anyway my ar$e was getting sore mid way through the return journey, i could do with some padded boxers or shorts....any particular recommendations? I'm not after spending a packet on this, is the Halfords stuff ok - http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... ryrn_76807

Also i got a cycling shirt from the Adli cycling offer and its great just wish i'd got another one or two, can anyone suggest a cycling shirt preferably long sleeve no more than about £15?
Cheers, Stu

For cheap cycling gear you can't beat dhb in wiggle.

However endura humvee shorts are great and come with a padded lycra liner.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

    These look good for £10.99:-

Although the sizing is a little odd, 31" waist then jumps to 35" with no inbetween! :?
I'm wear 34" jeans though they are a tocuh to big so probably more like 33" i would need, i usually buy 32-34" stuff.

    The M are fine. I'm a 33" waist.
I got 2 pairs and they don't fall down etc  although I find them tight on the thighs.
