Have bought first pair of Nevegals DTC 2.35 and on F and R the bead is not pulling into the edge of the rim evenly, the tyres have a odd bulge and I am concerned about the performance/safety (up to psi 40/ 27mm WTB trail rims standard on Rocky Ridge). Any advice please.

My wife's got WTB rims and they;re a right pain in the a55 to get the tyres to sit right. The best way I've found is to inflate till you here the bead pop (on hers about 70-80 psi) then drop the pressure to the right level - much like they do with car tyres.

Little bit of very soapy water. Same as a car tyre then, should just pop on.
Deflate them, soap up round the tyre where it sits on the rim and re pump.
    My Pics !

Whadda ya mean I dont believe in god?

  • Brilliant, checked the tubes no probs, soaped the rims all popped in nicely at 55 psi. I left the tyre for a few mins and found that the last bit popped in under the static pressure. Tyres rated 30 to 50 psi and I wasnt confident pushing them much higher.

Thanks all - now buzzing to get out and give them a good run.
