Spokes for cross wheels
mostly harmless

I need some new wheels for the cross bike and they're going to be Open Pros on 105 hubs. Can anyone shed any light on the suitability of DT Revolutions, laced 3x, for such a wheel?
For information I'm ~90kg and my riding style would be described as enthusiastic before it was called delicate.
DT Competitions would be cheaper and heavier but would they be stronger? I'm also open to suggestions about other makes. I've heard mutterings about Sapim Lasers but I know nothing about them.
And finally does can anyone recommend somewhere to purchase the aforementioned spokes online without having to buy a whole box?
Thanks in advance for your help.

The DT Comps would make a stiffer - and hence stronger wheel. I'd suggest that at your weight and given your described riding style you'd be far better going for those than for Revs or Lasers.0

St John Street Cycles in Bridgwater sell single spokes online:

Plenty of other shops do as well, though, I think. I agree that standard 14/15 spokes are preferable to the tricksy 14/17 guage. Have fun building them.0 -
Helpfully SJS don't manage to stock both the lengths I need in the same spoke I might email them.0
