hi all, i am about to get into mountain biking for the first time and im looking at buying a bike for around £300. I wondered if anyone had any suggestions on a good first bike?
i have been looking around the local bike shops and one shop specialized in Cuad Butler bikes. He said they are better value for money as your not paying for a big name. Has anyone had any experience with these bikes or know if they are any good?

A bike for cross country trails, or just canal paths? Or road even? Or all?!
Depends what you want really, are many options for your budget and riding.

You can't go wrong with the Spesh though.
Get down to you local bike shop and try a few for size too, make sure you get one that is comfortable and fits right.
