roller trainer

thinking of buying a tacx t1025 ecotrack roller trainer is this suitable for use with a mtb

    The only one I found that was compatible (with the tyres) was the Minora RDA-850 as it uses the rim of the wheel not the tyre. Others will work fine but others require you to change the tyre - I knew that if I had to change the tyre / wheel each time I wanted to use the trainer I never would. Works well and is fairly quiet. I've been using it this week as I've pulled my shoulder and don't want to hit the trails again until the weekend (well maybe this evening) http://www.minoura.co.jp/trainer-e2.html

    Trainers do get boring though and very very sweaty - so you'll need a fan in front of you. I tend to run interval training programmes on mine for about 40 minutes which is just about bearable.
