can I get a clip on aero bar to fit bike?

I have some carbon aero handlebars on my bike, which are aero shaped right up to the ahead stem fitting.

This means I cannot just buy a standard clip on aero bars (the bar is not round where they would clip on). Are there any aero bars with alternative fittings? e.g. are fitted to the ahead stem bolts or something?

I have started doing triathlons, but plan to keep road riding, and so do not want hassle of changing between two sets of handlebars.

Thanks,

  • Does anyone have experience with:

    A720 SCCS Clip On Over

Its the only option I can find, and not easily sourced in UK.

I think there was a (Deda, possibly) aerobar which was clamped to the stem, underneath. Its no longer on their website, unfortunately. As the clamps have to fit snugly around the stem, it might be neccessary to have a suitable stem.

  • ITM Vipers??? I'm sure they fit aero profiled bars. I used a pair myself, you have to cut them down though. :)

You might want to consider getting the stem 1-2cm shorter than your standard road stem as TT set-ups are generally shorter that a normal road bike position - as long as your knees don't hit the bars!
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
