Looks to me like a Halfrauds £80 special
  • I thought so originally but it's all aluminium and the swingarm is fairly different to their regular swill.

for a gym and back bike i would bin it and get a ridged commute bike.

  • You were all right, piece of crap halfrauds special. It arrived yesterday and weighed a ton. Best part was it had the frame number hacked out of it so I suspect it has been stolen from someone (why???). I have informed the seller so I'll see what happens.
  • Have to ask, how much did you pay for it?

  • If the frame number has been filed off you should probably report it to the police, they can check to see if it has been reported stolen (a bike of that description). I would certainly get my money back from the seller too, and report them to the police.
  • I paid £38 for it. I used to work in the police at a section that specialised in establishing the identities of vehicles where the engine or chassis (VIN) number had been tampered with. This bike appears to have had an additional plate for the frame number brazed onto the base. This whole plate has been hacked off so the chances of ever identifying the correct frame number are pretty much nil to zero. If it had just been ground or filed off, a chemical etching process could have been applied to bring out the original number.
