CTC third part insurance

I had an accident on Tuesday and ran into a stationary car and did alot of a damage.

I am a member of CTC and have requested a third party claim form.

Is it the same as with car insurance. You get a letter from the othersides insurance company and you just post it off to CTC's insurerer or is it more complicated than that.

I had an accident similar to this once, didn't have insurance but the driver was p1ssed off, dragged me to the cop shop but they just said they couldn't do anything as i was not required by law to have insurance! Was i lucky or what? P.s i offered to pay for the damage but never heard from him again :shock:
