hi
i was doing some servicing on my Magura Louise brakes tonight and noticed that a small amount of brake fluid was leaking from the side of the pistons when applying the brake.
is there a way to fix this or do i need a new caliper unit?

Could be that the seals need replacing.0

is replacing seals something i could do myself?
do i need any special tools?0 -
I think it is all listed on the magura site: or in the FAQ here (or workshop stickies)0

had a look on the magura site and there appears nothing to help me.
i also cant find anything that covers the replacement of seals in the FAQ or workshop stickies.0 -
I found a service guide, year by year, but can't post a link as the site is flash.0

what site was that on supersonic?0

the service guide does not appear to recover replacement of piston seals or am i missing something?0

is the fluid actually leaking or is it just sitting there and being moved as the seals flex?
if there is fluid (of any type, water, brake fluid, cleaner) sitting on the out side of the seals it can give an impression of a leak.
How old are the brakes?
Dont Magura offer a 5 year leak proof warrenty."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

the brakes are only a couple of years old but i have fitted Goodridge hoses and brakepads thus voiding the warranty.
when the pads are out and i press on the brake lever the fluid/bubbles appear on the outside of the piston when moving.
sometimes a small amount of the fluid also goes onto the rear of the brakepad unit.0
