Stiff Headset

i havnt been on my bike in about a week (usually everyday) and when i went to turn the handlebars they very stiff! i moved it about a few times and it came free again, just like normal...
then i put it away last night and came to it just now and its the same :?
i put gt85 on it last night to see if it helps but it hasnt..
does anyone know how i can fix this? and stop it happening again?

    strip clean and regrease.

    As said above,
    Take it apart, make sure your bearings are all in good condition first then pack it full of grease. And you can put to much grease on it so just slap it on there.

    Cleaning with pressure (either strong garden hose or jet wash) forces water in there and they get rusty. Need a good clean and regrease.
