Giant Terrago Disc vs. Giant XTC 4.5

Hi,

I have been looking at the Giant Terrago Disc priced at £340, and the Giant XTC 4.5 priced at £400. I am a beginning rider, upgrading from a crappy supermarket MTB I bought several years ago, looking to do trail riding, nothing too serious.

Which bike would you recommend? While the XTC seems to have better components, I have heard that it is a fairly aggressive bike, while the Terrago might suit what I want the bike for better, and seems very well specced for the money (and allow me to get some better accessories etc).

I've had a Terrago for two years, and I think it's a great bike. The usual budget-bike failings (like the tyres & fork) are there, and need to be addressed as time progresses, but the XTC is just a more capable bike all around.

For the extra £60, I'd personally definitely go for the XTC.
