Hi I am not sure if this has been posted yet.

I found these details on the 2009 range of Specialized Pitch

Comp
http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2009&Brand=Specialized&Model=Pitch+Comp&Type=bike

Pro
http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2009&Brand=Specialized&Model=Pitch+Pro&Type=bike

Looking at the specs I can't see any real difference. I actually think I prefer the 2008 models.

Not keen on the colours - and they look almost exactly the same otherwise.

Very happy with my 08 Pitch Pro :P

Argh, can't see them selling many pitch pros in that colour!

Red comp looks alright though - but yeah - talk about safe pair of hands spec wise which is probably wise based on success of '08

The Pro reminds me of a Trek Fuel Ex paint job. Still, it could be worse, look at the 2009 Commencal Meta 4.

Subtle, endurance 4" travel bike... in flouro green, oops. Crazy Andorrans.

i like the white one, the red looks cheap in my opinion but neither are as nice the the brown one, i dont know why a brown bike looks good, but it does, just like the original reign1 did too.

Those colours might not be UK colours, the Pro US colour last year was a very leary bright limey yellow...

I always thought that the Pitch would look better with a black chainset...

looks like the new enduro is gonna have a fox single crown fork next yr?

Wow, I didn't see that coming. I thought part of Spesh's whole ehtos was building complete articles, with custom parts rather than putting the same old parts on a frame, and the Spesh forks were a big part of that. The forks in those pics look quite like RS forks though - rebound knob at the bottom of the right leg, what looks like it might be a MC sticker on the crown, no Fox decals.

Read somewhere that they're redesigning the fork for 2010 so they will be producing it in very small numbers for top end bikes this year to make sure quality is high.

Yup, it works for me and several other riders who I ride with who also have 08 Enduros.

09 Enduros comes with Fox forks with only the S-Works having the E150.

Are they easy to get serviced?

doesnt fil me wth faith if spesh have written off their own design in favour of fox, or is that just to get higher scores in the magazne tests as the reliabiity of the future shock always comes into question.?

In terms of servicing the fork and shock need to be serviced at least every 250 hours riding time to maintain the 5 year Warranty. This is approx every year for 5 hours of riding a week.

For me all I have to do is drop it off at my local Specialized Concept Store and they'll turn it round within a week.
TF Tuned are also an authorised specialized service center : http://www.tftunedshox.com/

It's down to cost, the margins on lower bikes were too low.

You'll be able to separately purchase an E150 fork for about £1k

150 quid to get the pair tuned at tf-tuned,seems pretty decent. how much does a service for the pair cost at the conceptstore?

right to all the scaremongers out there, this ones for you. lol
the spesh 09 ctatalogue is now out at your local dealers if you still go there. the pitch is the same as last year. same colours same bikes. the enduro now starts at 1999.95 and sports fox 32 with 150mm travel. go down and check em out.

Did I understand that properly (excuse my ignorance) but did you just say that the E150 cost £1k bought seperately?

If I am right the Fox forks they are replacing them with are about £500 - £600.

Is the performance that much better? If so, what is it exactly that makes them so good?

i can believe they are good, i would imagine the high price is due to the relative newness of the spesh suspesnsion so any buyers are still paying for all of the development.

I take it that means there is less/no chance of getting a cheap deal on an 08 Pitch?

Stiffer, lighter and a 5 year Warranty :)

The cost was an estimate, I guess it will be between £800-£1k

you might be able. but don't count on it yet as the 09 pitch isn't out just yet but will be shortly. some of the good shops haven't "had to have" their end of summer sales yet but will do come september to clear off any remaining 08 units. you will defo get a good deal then. but now is the time to buy one as you will be defo get one and spesh has that 10% gift voucher going on unitl the end of this month. either way both represent stunning god value for money.
