ok i have been looking at the roadys section and they are haveing a debate about rotating chains every 500 miles. ( running 2 chains to reduce ware on the casset to make it last longer) Now does any one do this for there xc bike.
I do about 60miles offroad a week and after each ride i strip the chain off and clean it back to looking almost new i then relube.
Do you think that it would increase the life of my rear sprocket? and is it worth doing or does the amount of mud that i ride throug hmake it not cost effective and a new sprocket every 9 months is about right ?

Nothing in life can not be improved with either monkeys, pirates or ninjas

personally i would not bother.
the conditions are worse off road and you could shorten the life of parts due to more chnge in the chains/cogs over a given distance.
just maintain/clean after each ride and replace as needed."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
