My current tyres on my new bike are 26x2.1 but i'm looking at buying a road/off road mix tyre which is 26x1.95...will the inner tubes i have fit the 1.95 tyres ok?
Cheers, Stu

You'll need to take a pair of scissors to them and cut the extra 0.15" off the side and reseal the tube

You'll only need different tubes if you went down to 1", other wise one size fits all nearly. In your case you're OK.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

  • Good luck with cutting your inner tube and sealing it again, I would just buy a new inner tube if you want to be absolutely certain the size is right- as stated before inner tubes fit all sizes of tyre, my specialized are 1.5 up to 2.2, my tyres are 2.35 and I've had 2 punctures all year, despite doing an average of 1 new trail a fortnight.

    Take it easy!

if you're worried about it get some of these,
    http://www.stif.co.uk/gear/select_optio ... uctid=5044
26 / Presta (thin valve) / 1.75-2.35, or if you prefer the same size
in schraeder (thick valve). don't over tighenen the cap on them just nip
    them up.

the ones you've already got are probably very similar anyway so might be
    perfectly fine.
