Which Titanium Audax Frame?

I ask because I've just taken delivery of a build with low profile cantis on carbon forks and frankly the judder makes the bike unridable. My old steel tourer has cantis which periodically squeal but never judder so this has come as rather a shock. Looking ahead, a front disc makes a lot of sense, particularly for light touring, presumably these are limited to cro-mo forks? I need something that will work with Tiagra STI's (sorry, no Campag here).0

Seriously interested in getting a Changda frame - thanks for your post. Is there any chance you could answer some questions for me?
How easy was it to communicate what frame you wanted, for instance, if you copied the Etape, how did you manage to communicate that you wanted long reach brakes to be able to fit mudguards etc?
How did you pay them - credit card?
How long till the frame arrived?
How come no customs charge - are bike frames import free?
Got any pics of it?
Would be great if you could answer.

We have a Sabbath September and are v.pleased with it. We got to try it out for a few hours so doing that is an advantage. The Condor is nice and built in Italy I think.M.Rushton0

+1 for the Sabbath September. I bought a frame and forks last December and built it up with Campag Record. I've been using it as my main Audax bike this season and it has proved to be sure footed, a good climber but most of all comfortable over distance. I really notice the difference in the smoothness of the ride compared to my steel frames audax bikes. To be recommended and much rarer than the Van Nics.0

I cant believe no one has noticed in the OP he mentions buying through the C2W scheme.
Now perhaps it's me but when I used this it had a 1K limit and you were not allowed to add addition funds to get a better bike!FCN 7

Not all schemes are limited to £1k. I know one guy who got a £4k bike through his work's scheme. I'm also aware of plenty shops that will let you top up.0 -
Re Thorn: They don't make Ti so they bag it.
Re XACD: You need to understand cycle design and be able to understand technical drawings to get the optimum result. If you need/want a custom frame for some reason, this is the cheapest way to do it - in any material - that I know of. BUT, you need to know enough to specify what you want, and to check the drawings to ensure there has been no mistake made at either end. Otherwise, it's probably better to buy an off-the-peg frame which you should be able to measure, and hopefully test-ride, before buying.0 -

There was the October Issue of C+ with a roundup of four popular similar priced Ti bikes which I found very useful.0

By regular email. The poc, Porter SNU (surname unknown) replies promtly.
How did you manage to communicate that you wanted long reach brakes to be able to fit mudguards etc?
When you place an order you will receive full engineering drawings. If you know what
you want, eg headtube 15cm, toptube 55cm, room for mudguards, etc, etc, just tell him.
He will reply with revised drawings for you to agree on.
How did you pay them - credit card?
Bankers draft.
How long till the frame arrived?
About 3 weeks.
What about import charges?
Don't get involved if you don't have to pay them!
