Disc rotor noise ??

My front disc rotor is making a strange tinging noise like its loose but the bolts are all tight and secure ??
If I lean the bikes handlebars against a wall I can hear the disc tinging but I cant see why .

I though it was loose spokes at first but its definately the disc as I can flick it with my finger and get the same sound :? ....... any ideas ??

    This might sound a bit simple, but have you pulled out the pads to check there is not a small area of damage.
    I had something similar where a bit if grit got wedged between pad and disc. cleaned up the face of the pad and everything was OK.

    What brakes are they? I found with my Hayes Nines that when the pads wear right down the retaining clips catch on the disc.
