Noisey Bottom Bracket

The Bottom Bracket on my 4 month old 08 Rockhopper Pro has started to make a scraping noise at a certain point during each revolution.

Can i expect to get this sorted under warranty? Or is it seen as normal wear and tear?

According to the Specialized website, the Bottom Bracket is listed as:

"Shimano outboard cartridge bearing design (included with FC-M532 2pc crank)"

sounds like the chain catching on the front mech.

I thought it was that at first, but after closer inspection, its definatley not the chain.

When i took the chain off to clean it the other day. i noticed the cranks weren't turning as freely as they should. As if there was resistance

I'd guess after 4 months it's going to be treated as wear & tear, if you got if from your LBS and have a good relationship with them though you might be able to get them to sort it under warranty or as a freebie. Might just need a service anyway, my own BB failed after about 6 months though.
