Choosing new forks for an '04 Enduo

After riding my Specialized Enduro for over four years :shock: I think its time I invest in some new forks that actually work properly..
The standard ones are Marzochi EXR Supra forks with (I believe) 120mm of travel.
Ideally I want to increase the front travel to around 140-160mm....But im not sure how that is going to effect the ride of the bike....
What forks would people recommend for this bike?
Using it for all mountain type stuff....so need to be able to peddle up and then spank it back down again....
So low weight and High strength are a must..
Any thoughts?
