Secondhand or new?

I have about £650 to spend on a bike, but absoulutly no more than that. I am looking at the saracen zen 1 but I am not sure whether I should get that or a secondhand bike. Any help would be appreiciated!! :lol:

    At £650 you have a good choice of new bikes.

    New or second hand is down to you. New anything goes wrong when you get the bike take it back to the shop, you'll know how well maintained the bike is because you'll be doing it.

    Second hand the complete opposite, anything that is wrong with the bike will be down to you to sort out, you don't know the history of the bike anything that has been bodged up i.e. freehub packed with grease to silence a noisy hub, bushes not replaced creating further damage.

    Saying all that you can pick up some bargains from people who have spent a small fortune on a bike decided it's not for them and sell there bike which has barely been broken in at a healthy discount to you.
