Hi, fairly new to forums so be gentle!
Some advice is required. I haven't been on a bike for a long time. I was going to get an Giant XTC 4.5 but had concerns over the trail shudder through my back. I have a slight niggle from a football injury. Nothing major but enough to make me feel 52 (in the mornings) instead of 42 (reality) or 32 (head).
Should I be thinking of a full suspension bike. I will be doing a mix of trails and single track etc. but know I will want to do more if my back is in agreement. Budget was £500 and have read the Rockrider 6.3 from Decathlon is a good bet (on this site) I suppose I am looking for a bit of comfort!!!!! or is it wiseer to get a web deal on older bikes, say '06 or '07 models with higher spec?
Help and advice please, thanks

If going full suss, buy an older, better specced bike.Giant Trance 3 at ww.paulscycles.co.uk is a good deal at £640.If you cant afford that buy a hardtail and retrofit a suspension seatpost as suggested.2006 Giant XTC
2010 Giant Defy Advanced
2016 Boardman Pro 29er
2016 Pinnacle Lithium 4
2017 Canondale Supersix Evo0 -
If you can't stretch your budget past £500 then I think a hardtail with a decent sus seatpost woulg give you a better package overall. If you can go up to the bike Spiderman suggested or another heavily redeuced older bike. Another possibility would be to look secong hand - £500 will get you a decent full suss on eBay."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

Thanks all, fianlly made my mind up and it's gone hardtail. I could not justify the extra for full suss untill I've found my bike legs and have a better idea about how my riding will be.
Bought Giant XTC 4.5 today. good discount on 08 model with a few shavings of accessories from my LBS. Very happy.
Thanks again0
