Hi,

I've going to start cycling into which involves a variety of terrain, mostly road/path but also some light offroad, the journey is around 3 miles. Anyway, based on the research I have done, I have come up with the following list of items I think I need (from Halfords website - Cycle2Work). Here is what I plan to buy, anybody got any suggestions/comments - I'm especially unsure as to what maintenance/punchure kit I need? Also, I plan on replacing the stock tyres with the Continentals listed. All in all I don't think it's a bad list for £700 (around £400 on C2W!).

Carrera Fury 20" Mountain Bike 08 £499.99
Topeak Super Tourist DX Bike Rack £29.99
Kryptonite New York Bike Lock £59.99
Topeak Bike Trunk Bag £44.99
Continental Travel Contact 26 x 1.75 Bike Tyre £20.99

3 for £50
Bikehut Dual Action Bike Pump
Bell Avanti Bike Helmet (54-61cm)
Bikehut Compact LED Bike Light Set

Subtotal before discounts: £724.92
Total discounts on products: -£18.97
Subtotal: £705.95

Thanks for the help.

looks good, i like the look of those furys, there are a few folk on here who rave about them.

have you swung a leg over the bike to make sure you are picking the right size?

Thanks. No, I haven't checked the size, at the moment I was just putting together the costs - I suspect I will actually be an 18" (same cost though).

Spare inner tube, just a basic puncture repair kit for now. Padded shorts for any longer rides  Bottle cage/bottle Waterproofs , maybe mudgaurds if you don't mind them, otherwise you get that wet strip up your back
Oh & I forgot...Cycle mits.... Oh & tyre levers (if not in the repair kit) & maybe a multi tool

Thanks guys. Thank god for Cycle2Work scheme, it's expensive getting started with cycling otherwise!

Tweezers, I once spent nearly 25 mins trying to get a thorn out of my tyre, serves me right for biting my nails.
