stock wheels on a Giant STP2 07

i have a 2007 STP2 and i'm going to upgrade the wheels as they aren't disc compatible and i assume they are weak and heavy. however i do quite a lot of more extreme riding and don't notice extra weight that much. but anyway i've been at my local BMX track a few times recently and been really impressed with the strength of the rims. i've piled the rear, in particular, into the lips of landings a few times and their still straight and true. i'm considering saving some money and instead of changing the whole wheel just getting new hubs. does anyone have any REAL experience that would persuade me otherwise?

The price of the rebuild will probably be as much as a handbuilt new wheel! Pick another rim to suit, and it will probably be even stronger.0

Do you really need discs though? New discs and wheels will cost almost as much as the bike again! Have you already made any upgrades?0

i bought the bike for the frame to build up how i wanted. as the STP2 is the same price as the frame i figured at least i'd have a bike to ride while i got all the peices together. and discs do work so much better than V'sI took falling off bikes...and turned it into an art!0
