Hi Folks.
First post, hope it's in the right place
To cut a long story short, I've just splashed a fair amount of my cash on a new bike and I've already hit a pretty big snag. My current insurance company don't want to know. Anything above £1000 and they don't care how, where or when you lock it.
Could you kind people people give me a few pointers? Who are you with? What were their requirements etc. I have a garage and am planning to secure it via a 'Sold Secure Gold' ground anchor.
The bike is a custom build project so I have receipts for the whole project but not the whole bike as a unit, if you get my meaning. Will this make any difference?
Thank you

Marks and Spencers apparently are pretty good. Do a search and you'll find some other threads on this subject.

Try here first - http://www.ctc.org.uk. You may have to join CTC (which is no bad thing as they cover you for accidents and death - just through your membership) but their partners Buterworths offer VERY competitive rates on bike insurance, they also offer no claims after a couple of years (or is it 3?) and offer new for old (which many household insurers don't - so watch out!) If you get your bike 'tagged' down at the cop shop they wil also give you a discount which I think is at least 5%.
If you were hoping just to include your £1k bike under normal household contens insurance make sure you read the small print to ensure they give new for old at the very least. I insure all my bikes with the CTC scheme and they have always been very good.www.practicalcycles.com
